Installation instructions for hollow poly roofing sheets

Nowadays, the use of new materials to make roofing sheets is very popular, especially products that have the same basic features as Metallic corrugated iron sheets, but with some additional features, smarter, more superior information, helping managers to save costs and save more.

And among them, the most popular poly sheet is the hollow poly sheet. In order to be able to construct and install a building roof using hollow poly sheets, the contractor must follow the correct process, technique, and purpose to optimize the quality of poly sheets.

Installation instructions for hollow poly roofing sheets

Step 1: Prepare

The first step in polycarbonate roofing methods is to ensure that the polycarbonate sheet bonding structure is strong and secure enough to support the polycarbonate roof, and that all components such as purlins and frames are properly applied.
Measure and check the size of the roof sheet to cut the Poly sheet if necessary. When cutting, use specialized tools such as metal saw blades, small saw blades, sharp circular saw blades. When cutting, let the poly sheet lie on a flat surface to avoid scratches and reduce the quality of the poly sheet. You can cut it yourself at home with simple tools such as a circular saw or you can ask a dealer to sell it. Cut to the sheet size that you have measured at home.

In addition, the necessary accessories also need to be complete to ensure a seamless construction schedule. Although there are many different types of hollow poly sheets on the market, in general, there must be accompanying items such as screws, U and H connecting rods,  silicone glue or sealant, end tape...

Step 2: Installation

Proper placement of hollow Polycarbonate smart plastic roofing sheets.is an important part of the installation process. Make sure your roofing sheets fit the structure correctly. Hollow polycarbonate roofing sheets are popular for their high impact resistance, but this is only really effective when the sheet fits snugly against the roof. This will also prove the waterproof effect of your roof in heavy rain.

Now it's time to start installing the hollow poly panels on the roof frame. First of all, we will put the hollow poly sheets into the roof purlins and fix them with specialized screws with pre-prepared waterproof grouting.

Use the H-brackets to connect the two poly sheets, but first fix these bars to the roof frame according to the predetermined dimensions.

Joints should be placed on the edges of your roof, with holes drilled about 0.5m apart. You can then use these holes to permanently insert hollow poly sheets. Continue to lay the H-bracket down and sandwich it between the U-brackets at the ends of the poly  to prevent water from entering the sheet holes.

Between each plate there should be a glass stick, which helps to properly seal the gaps between them. Once the panels are aligned on your roof and attached to the slats, you can finish off by adding screw caps and screws, creating a solid, reliable fixation.

Step 3: Finishing and maintenance

Once the installation is complete, you can remove the protective films on the hollow poly panels to prevent melting and sticking to the roofing surface reducing light transmission and aesthetics. It is then possible to drill holes into the sheet and add screws to the fixings which will further strengthen your hollow polycarbonate roof.

Once these steps are complete it's time to start making final adjustments to your roof. You should clean up any layers of dirt and plastic debris caused by drilling, as well as make sure that any screw caps and buttons you have used have been properly applied evenly over the entire roof.

The maintenance that needs to be carried out sooner or later will depend on the finishing ability of the poly roof. If finished well, you can use it throughout without damage and vice versa if there are errors on construction sites, it is necessary to repair it to avoid leaking or affecting other locations.

Notes when constructing hollow Poly panels

Measure the dimensions carefully to avoid missing or redundant cuts

Install the hollow poly sheet vertically to prevent water pooling in the voids of the material

The minimum slope when installing the poly sheet roof is 5 degrees so that the water can drain away without stagnation

Do not peel off the protective film until the installation is complete to avoid scratching the poly . sheet
If the hollow poly sheet has UV coating, it should be facing up

Care should be taken in fixed positions such as screws, sealants, tapes and end caps of poly sheets to prevent water penetration during heavy rain.

Peel off the protective film after installing the poly sheet as sunlight can cause it to melt and adhere to the material.
